Britney was so excited. It was her first time going out with her friends in Korea, and she couldn’t wait to show them around. She was currently in an exchange system from her program in the University of British Columbia, with a Korean student staying somewhere in Canada attending her University. She was in a special languages course, specifically to become a translator, and it had always been one of her dreams to visit Korean, being a huge K-pop fan.
Britney was currently dressing up for the event that night, a gathering at a very popular Asian karaoke place she was desperate to show off to her friends. Her new friends in Korea had introduced it to her, and she had been obsessed with singing there ever since. The ambience was fantastic, and everything she had ever wanted. Britney had short hair with bangs, brown eyes, round glasses, and loved dressing up in soft Korean-based fashion. The more she stayed in this country, the more she obsessed over their culture. Today, she was wearing a pastel skirt with long white stockings and a white dress shirt with a large bow on top. She put on more blush than she was used to, and accentuated her cat eyes. She checked her phone when she was finally done, ready for her friends to arrive.
Maureen, Any, and Estelle arrived at once, as they were all staying at the same hotel. Maureen was a friend Briney met in University, with short black hair, brown eyes, sporting a blue t-shirt and jeans. She was the mom figure of the group, and Britney was glad to see her, wanting to show off her current outfit. “Why aren’t you wearing something cuter, Maureen?”
Maureen laughed, looking down at herself. “You know this is what I usually wear.”
Any, on the other hand, was the most chaotic of the group, with long black hair, brown eyes and dark blue eyes. Today, she had decided to wear her glasses, but looked slightly punk with her black ripped jeans and gray tank top. Any was disappointed her boyfriend, Kyle, couldn’t come along, but Britney was sure she would have just as much fun anyways.
Esteem was the schemer and quite mischievous. She was social, bubbly, loud, and extroverted, with long black hair and brown eyes. She was even nerdier than Britney, which was saying something. She wore a simple blue dress with black lace tights and sneakers.
“Are you guys excited? I’m so excited.” Britney exclaimed. She hadn’t seen her friends in so long, and all she desired was a night out to really have fun. After complimenting each other’s outfits, the girls followed Britney out of her apartment and onto the Seoul Metropolitan Subway, where she directed them to the karaoke place. It was called Green Light, and located in the Gangnan district. Britney had already prepped all the Twice songs she was going to sing, and was ready to show off her new Korean vocabulary.
Britney was absolutely obsessed with Twice, and knew it was part of the reason why she wanted to go to Korea in the first place. She loved how confident the girls were when they danced, and regularly tried to copy their routines when they sang alone. She was there since their first single, “Cheer up” and will be with them until the very end.
It took almost forty minutes to get there, but it was worth it. Green Light was famous for a reason. It was extravagant, with disco lights, specialty cocktails, and delicious Korean Banchan. She hurried to the counter, only to hear someone clear their throat behind her. “Alovi, you made it!” She said, giving her roommate a hug.
“I went to grab these two.” Alvoi said, turning around to show April and Hanqi beside her, two of Britney’s new friends from Korea. They were finally a full party, and Britney knew it would be one of the best nights of her life.
“What are we waiting for? Let’s start singing then,” she said, looking around the group.
“I have bad news.” Alvoi said. Britney raised her eyebrow, confused. “They’re fully booked.”
“I thought we made a reservation! They’re always fully booked.” She was trying not to get upset, but it was really destroying her spirit.
Alvoi smiled sheepishly. “I may have forgot… and thought we would just wing it.”
Maureen gasped. “Oh no… what are we going to do?”
Britney knew she couldn’t let this get her down. She walked to the counter again, smiling at the man in his work uniform. She began speaking in the best Korean she could manage, asking him if there was anything he could do about the situation.
The man seemed nice enough, and flipped through his ipad, saying he would figure something out. Eventually, he gasped, and looked up at her. “Do you think your group would be okay with joining a girl who’s singing alone?” He asked her in Korean. She asked the group, and every single one agreed, all loving the idea of making new friends, especially with each other. The man nodded, and walked off, wanting to ask the girl for her permission as well.
He eventually came back with a large grin, telling them it was all set. They whooped at once, and he took their drink orders as they followed him into the dim corridor, lit by flashing neon lights that illuminated their faces. Britney gazed at all of her friends, pleased to see they all seemed excited about this.
The closer they approached their room, the more Britney could hear someone singing inside with a wonderful voice. It seemed almost familiar to her, and the girl was clearly singing her heart out. She had almost placed it when the worker opened the door for them, revealing the girl inside. Britney gasped, unable to help herself. There was no way this was happening…
Sana Minatozaki stood in the center of the room, singing a song unfamiliar to Britney, wearing one of the cutest outfits she had ever seen. She had a back fedora on, a loose fitting hoodie with graffiti all over it, and tights that went down to her knees. Her long blonde hair was loose around her, and she swayed side to side, singing like her heart depended on it.
Britney couldn’t stop staring at her, her mouth agape. She didn’t know what to say, it was like she was conjured out of her imagination. Any poked the side of her waist and said, “wait, isn't that Sana? You’re absolutely obsessed with her!”
Britney nodded, her mouth still dropped open. She was glad to hear that someone else could see her, too. “Oh, hi. You’re the group that’s joining me?” Sana said politely, her English with a slight accent.
“We are. I’m Any.” She said, introducing herself and the rest of the group. “You’re from Twice, right? Our friend here is a huge fan!” She pointed to Britney, who blushed furiously but nodded.
“What… what are you doing here?!” She asked, finally able to get her words out.
“I have a pretty intense schedule and idol life, so I like to come here to destress. I love to sing, after all.” She cocked her head, grinning. “It always makes me feel better.” The song she was singing came to an end, and she peered at the group. “Feel free to order any songs you like, don’t let me stop you!”
Britney whispered into Maureen’s ear: “I don’t think I can sing in front of her, I’m going to be so bad compared to her voice!”
Maureen shook her head. “Don’t worry, we’ll all be bad together. Go! You should sit next to her.” Britney refused, but Maureen pushed her closer. It was awkward at first, with Britney not able to say a single word. She stared at Sana like she was some sort of illusion.
“Should we order some Soju?” Sana asked, looking like she was actually enjoying the company. Britney nodded aggressively. She didn’t want to suggest it first, not wanting to seem like a drunk in front of her crush, but knew she needed a few drinks inside of her to open up.
They ordered all sorts of flavors, and everyone took shots except for Any, who was allergic to alcohol. This really did help Britney, who began talking to Sana the most. The rest of the group let them be, knowing how much Britney obsessed over Twice.
Britney couldn’t believe it, but it seemed like they were really hitting it off. She stood up to sing a few of her favorite songs, not wanting to hide that they were all from Sana’s band.
“Hey, do you want to sing this with me? You have an awesome voice.” Sana said, making Britney blush for the hundredth time that night.
She looked at the song - The Start of Something New from High School Musical - and began patting her cheeks aggressively. This… she couldn’t believe it, but it felt like Sana was making some sort of suggestion by asking her to duet with her. Of course, Britney accepted immediately, and Sana pushed it to the top of the list, wanting to sing right away. They swayed side to side as Britney sang Zac Efron’s part, wanting to hear Sana sing Vanessa Hudgen’s. It was absolutely everything she could ever wish for, and she had to pinch herself a few times to convince herself it was real. Better yet, Sana kept insisting they sing more duets together, only suggesting love songs (Can you Feel the Love Tonight, A Whole New World) - all songs that Britney loved from her childhood. They were both around the same age, and it seemed like they were compatible in all aspects of their personality.
Not wanting to hog the mic all night, Britney eventually sat down, panting as she tried to calm herself down from all the dancing and singing. She didn’t think it could get any better. Feeling much more comfortable with Sana now, she asked her why she was singing alone.
Sana shrugged and said, “I had a fight with our management company…”
“JYP?” Britney said, unable to stop herself from blurting it out.
“Yeah,” Sana chuckled. “You really know all about us.” She adjusted herself to look at Britney. “Idol life is so stressful, and I had a breakdown because I suddenly realized I might never be able to pursue my own life and be a normal girl. I came to karaoke like I always did to escape my troubles, but now I have nowhere to stay for the night. I just can’t go back and face the rest of the group. I feel like they’re all going to make fun of me.”
“Britney will have a free room tonight!” Alovi said, butting into the conversation.
“Wait, what?” Britney said, looking confused.
“I’ll be staying at the hotel with the rest of the girls, it’s already been decided!” She shot the rest of the group a glare, daring them to speak up. When no one said anything, she said, “see? Your place is free!”
“Can I really stay at your place?” Sana asked, looking a bit perked up and excited.
“Um…” Britney said, biting her lip. “Sure.” She wanted to walk out the room and scream at the top of her lungs. She would’ve been happy with just talking to Sana once, let alone being her friend and potentially flirting with her! This was by far the greatest day of her life.
She was eager to go home, and was glad when the group finally parted ways, encouraging her and Sana to leave together. Her friends all winked and giggled at her as she left, making encouraging noises. She got a couple of texts on the Subway back, though she didn’t look at her phone, wanting to give Sana her undivided attention while she had her.
“I’m so tired.” Sana admitted, and laid quietly on Britney’s shoulder. Britney went rigid, but relaxed after a few seconds, and took Sana’s hand in hers. This was it, this was really happening.
“I didn’t think about how hard idol life was. I feel terrible being one of the fans to keep pushing you.” Britney admitted, looking down at their interlocked fingers.
“No, it’s because of fans like you that we’re where we are today. I’m tired all the time, but I’m still happy being able to sing for large crowds. It’s my passion.” Sana said, and snuggled closer to her.
They spent the rest of the ride in silence, and eventually reached Britney’s house still holding hands. Britney turned on the light and took her shoes off, offering to take Sana’s hoodie as she did. She watched as Sana looked around, taking the place in. “I’m just an exchange student, so this is what the school provided. It’s not much.” She admitted.
Sana smiled gently. “You don’t know how precious it is to have something like this. Something to call your own. It makes me so jealous.”
“I guess I never thought of it like that.” Britney admitted. “I always thought idols had the best life ever.”
Sana shook her head. “Sometimes it feels like a cage…”
Britney nodded, realizing she was right. “I’m keeping you up, sorry. This is my roommate’s room, let me grab some toiletries for you to get comfortable.”
Sana looked shy as she said, “I thought we were going to stay in your room…”
Britney almost choked on her own saliva. “Wha–” She gulped. “You want to sleep on the same bed as me?”
Sana nodded. “Is that okay with you?” Britney couldn’t say anything. Instead, she led Sana into the other end of the apartment. She opened her room, revealing an embarrassing amount of K-pop posters.
“Please don’t make fun of me.” She said, putting her hand on top of her eyes. Sana laughed and pulled her hand off, giving her a tiny kiss on the cheek.
“I actually love that you wake up every morning seeing my face.” Again, Britney blushed furiously. They only had one bathroom, so she let Sana get ready as she changed into her pajamas, trying to calm herself down. She checked her phone, which were covered in hundreds of drunk texts from Maureen, Estelle, Alvoi, and some sober ones from Any, all teasing her and congratulating her at the same time.
“U owe me one.” Alvoi had said.
“Anything.” Britney replied, before putting her phone on mute. Sana came out of the bathroom in one of Britney’s pajama sets, and she immediately wanted to cuddle her in it. It was frilly, soft, and adorable, and she couldn’t believe her outfit would have Sana’s smell on it forever. “You’re so cute…” Britney said, not able to stop herself in time.
It was Sana’s turn to blush as she said, “your turn.” Britney took her time in the bathroom, again trying to calm her nerves. She wanted to imagine Sana as any other girl, but she knew Sana would never be. She was far better than she had ever imagined.
She closed the door behind her, seeing Sana already under the blankets, peering up at her. She looked even cuter than just a second ago. Britney pulled herself under the blankets as well, and peered at Sana, wanting her to make the first move like she had all night.
Sana didn’t waste a second before she pulled on Britney’s neck and pulled her face close to her own. Their first kiss was gentle, a soft press against each other. Sana’s lips were so soft Britney almost moaned at the sensation. She reached down and stroked her waist, letting Sana deeper into her mouth. This time, she did let a moan out, not caring how that made her look. Sana moved on top of her, and they began caressing each other’s bodies as they made out, both clearly enjoying themselves.
Britney’s nervousness melted away from Sana’s gentleness, and she didn’t think of her as an idol anymore, but as a lover, someone to cherish and adore. She learned Sana’s weak spots, the ones that made her moan the loudest, and loved every single whimper that came out of her mouth. She wanted to give Sana one of the best orgasms of her life, and moved down to pull her pants down, revealing cute white panties with a bow on top. She nuzzled her face into it, breathing in the scent of her lover. She knew she was addicted from that very second.
They stayed awake for hours, giving each other orgasm after orgasm as they explored each other’s bodies for the first time. Britney kept wanting more and more, not wanting to go to sleep, despite the daylight beginning to approach.
Eventually, after losing count of how many times she came, Britney collapsed onto the bed, breathing heavily alongside Sana. She could feel her endorphins drop, and Britney immediately felt lost. This was her best night, but in the morning Sana would leave, and she would never be able to feel this kind of joy again.
Sana seemed to read her mind though, because she cuddled up close to her, letting their naked bodies press against each other again. “I want to be your girlfriend.” Sana admitted, and nibbled one of the hickies she gave Britney, making her moan again.
Britney felt tears well up at the immense sense of relief she felt. This wasn’t over, it wasn’t even close. “Do you really mean that?”
Sana laughed. “Of course I do. I really really like you.”
Britney brushed a strand of Sana’s beautiful hair back, looking into her eyes. “I feel like I’m going to wake up, and this will all be a dream.”
“It’s not a dream, Britney. I’m right here.” Sana said, and nuzzled into her, warming Britney’s body up as she laid gentle kisses between her breasts. “Now go to sleep, so we can have more fun with each other tomorrow morning.” She smiled against her body, and began slowly dozing off.
