Frank Wulsige looked into his telescope, examining the stars shining down at him. He flipped open his notebook and jotted down more notes. As an 11-year-old boy, he wasn’t too great at figuring out the physics and mathematics behind the constellations and planets, but he did love looking up at the sky every night, and tried to learn as much as possible with his abilities. Frank was a shy boy, he didn’t get along with kids his age, and loved to keep to himself. He was adorned by his family because of how kind he was, and he appreciated their love for him, providing anything he could in return.

Part of the reason why he didn’t get along with kids his age was because he didn’t quite understand normal kid activities. He didn’t want to run around all day, throwing rocks at ponds and screaming at random objects. He preferred sitting in his tree house, reading and spending time with his family. It did make him feel a little isolated from the rest of society, but he was a happy kid none-the-less, and he wouldn’t really change anything about it, other than being able to speak to his father again. He could see how lonely his mother was all the time, and wished he could do something to make her feel a little bit better. Frank had messy black hair and blue eyes. His cheeks were always rosey, which made him look very young and naive. He wore a maroon hoodie and black pants, a somewhat favourite outfit of his.

He leaned back onto the wooden floors, looking up at the glass ceiling his dad had made for him. It was quite beautiful, and he could lay there forever- though he did consider going back home, his mother didn’t like it when he stayed up too late. He gasped when he saw it. A large flaming object moving rapidly towards Crescent moon island. He couldn’t believe it, were his eyes deceiving him? It was getting larger and larger, moving at a pace Frank couldn’t comprehend. Did anyone else see this? It didn’t make any sense- he hadn’t seen any reports on it in the news. Weren’t scientists usually aware when a meteor was about to crash down? He moved to his telescope, zooming in on the object as well as he possibly could. It was huge, a large rock surrounded by molten flames. It would be crashing somewhere closeby, he could tell. Should he be calling someone about this? They must’ve seen it by now, it was too large to go unnoticed. He followed its tracks, watched as it moved closer and closer. After a few seconds, he could no longer feel it. He braced for the impact, not sure if there would be one.

It came, the treehouse shook slightly, and he moved with it, his heart racing. There was a small sound, a booming that echoed through the city, and it all stopped. Frank raced down the stairs of the tree house. He pulled open the door of the backyard and stepped into the kitchen, his eyes wide and heart racing. “Mom!” He cried out.

“In here.” She replied from the living room. He ran into the next room.

“Did you feel that?!” He asked, his arms spread open wide.

“The little shaking that just happened? Yes. Why are you freaking out? We get small earthquakes all the time.” She was sitting on the couch, holding a glass of wine and staring at him with bemusement. It was rare to find Frank so excited. She was in her late thirties and very beautiful. She had long blonde braided locks and a gentle smile plastered on her face. She was the type of woman who would do anything to make her children happy. She now wore her usual pyjamas, a loose fitted t-shirt and very short and tight shorts, which accentuated her ass in the best way possible. She worked as a real estate agent. It took awhile for her to properly master the craft, but the more she worked at it the better she got, and now she was selling million dollar homes to families who adored her. It didn’t hurt that she had such a beautiful body as well, it made the husbands very keen to buy something from her. She had lost her husband 6 years ago, and she still couldn’t stop thinking about him on a daily basis. She knew she would never find anyone that could be even remotely comparable to her late husband, and she never bothered trying because of this. Both her children appreciated her care and devotion to them, and that was all that really mattered to her.

“It wasn’t just an earthquake. I saw a meteor land right on Crescent city.” He cried out. She raised her eyebrows, and immediately turned on the TV. Normally, she would doubt something this crazy coming from an 11-year-old boy’s mouth, but she knew he was very intelligent, and would believe anything he said to her. He felt even more intelligent than her sometimes. She flipped through the channels, landing on the local news.

The reporter was sitting on a shiny new counter, a video of a young child they were interviewing was displayed right behind her. She smiled at the television, commenting on how cute the little girl was. Her name was Amy Takahashi, one of the youngest models to win multiple awards for her work. Suddenly, a man approached her, he held a clipboard in his hand and he whispered into her ear. She nodded rapidly, and looked at the television. “We’ll have to pause this segment of the show for now. I have some urgent news.”

Frank glanced at his mother urgently. This must be about the meteor. “We’ve just been informed there was a meteor that landed in the middle of Hallow woods, right at the north end of the city. All we know about it right now is that it is anywhere from ten to twenty metres in length and that we’re sending experts on the scene. It created a level 4 earthquake in the surrounding area. They will update us as soon as they can. There are no casualties.”

Elizabeth looked at her son, “I can’t believe you saw that happening.” She gaped at him, completely surprised.

“I told you looking up at the stars every night would serve some kind of purpose!” He grinned. “Too bad I don’t know anything about it, I was hoping I could help the scientists.” He frowned.

“It’s okay baby.” She said, petting his hair and holding him close to her, letting her breasts press against his back. “I know you’re always trying to help. But you’re 11-years-old, no one expects you to come up with anything big until you’re older.” She kissed him on the head.

He nodded, though he hated being reminded how young he was compared to everyone else. He related to people much older than him way more than kids his age, and he wished he was the same age as his mom, or at least his sister, so they wouldn’t look down on him all the time. What else could he possibly do to prove himself to them?

Chapter 2

“Jason Hughes on the scene.” He spoke into the bluetooth mic now plugged into his ear. He had been called up in the middle of the night, and he hadn’t appreciated it. His husband was snoring soundly beside him, and he had finally fallen asleep when he received the phone call. He thought focusing his studies on astronomy would provide him with peace and comfort, knowing that most of the time no one would be bothering him in his day-to-day life. Instead, he was getting phone calls from the government in the middle of the night, telling him there was an urgent situation they needed his team to attend to. He had to be the bad guy and call the scientists working for him, most of them visibly groaning at having been woken up.

As soon as he realized what he was being called for, he felt all of his sleepiness melt away. A meteor that none of them had expected landing in the middle of a city? What kind of wild concept was that? He had hoped that they would be intelligent enough in this day and age that nothing would be unexpected anymore, but it seems like scientists have a long way to go still. He grabbed the equipment he needed and headed to the scene, kissing his husband goodbye and reassuring him everything would be okay. Little did he know, this meteor would soon be changing the course of a lot of people’s lives.

When he arrived at the scene, being transported by a few police cars deep into the forest, he was immediately crowded by police officers. The head officer, who introduced herself as Sofía Ramirez, thanked him for coming on such short notice and asked him to provide any information he can after he scanned the meteor. He agreed right away, and she gave him a bluetooth speaker so they could communicate at all times- just in case. She had honey-brown skin and long wavy hair, which she had tied up at the moment. He couldn’t help but notice how large her tits were, though she was obviously not his type. She had around 10 men under her command that night, many of whom looked confused at what was going on.

Jason nodded at the few scientists who were available to take his call. Three men that he had working with him since he moved to Crescent City a few years ago to begin working on his experiments. They were very loyal to him and kind, and he appreciated what they brought to the team. They approached the meteor slowly, walking around and studying the crevices. He estimated it was indeed 10 metres long, just like they had told him earlier. It had large cracks throughout from the impact, and he found that he wasn’t familiar with the material it was made out of. It must’ve come from very far away. “John, please gather a sample. Be careful. We have no idea where it’s come from.”

He nodded, taking out a flask from his bag and a tweezer. He put on gloves ot be careful and started to pick at it, trying to get any fragment from the rock as possible. It wasn’t budging, no matter how hard he pulled, he couldn’t get it out. Steve shoved him aside, getting impatient. “You always take so long to do anything.”

“Steve. Compose yourself.” Jason warned. It was too late though. Steve had put his bare hands on the stone. Jason sucked his breath in rapidly, not believing someone working with him could be so stupid. Though after a few seconds, nothing happened. He had half a mind to think Steve would collapse from some kind of weird poison.

“Steve!” He scolded. He ignored him, he dug his fingers into the meteor and then groaned. He lifted his fingers up, showing the other scientists the small cut at the end.

“Fucking rock.” He said.

“Steve. You’re so fired. What’s gotten into you?”

“There was no way other than this to get a sample, do any of you have any better ideas?” He demanded. The rest of them shook their heads.

“Alright then.” He replied. Jason walked up to him, holding out his thicker gloves.

“At least use these so you don’t cut yourself on it again. It’s clearly made of a material we’ve never experienced before. Be careful.” He emphasized. Steve finally listened to him, using a large hoe to extract the material. It worked. He got a large chunk out of the rock and put it inside a bag. This will do. Jason nodded and walked back back to Sofia, who was waiting patiently with the rest of her team.

“We won’t be able to figure anything else out unless we go back to the lab.” He explained. “It’ll take a few days, but I promise we’ll try and figure out some answers.”

“The mayor isn’t going to be happy about this.” She frowned.

“Science takes time. I apologize.” Jason insisted. She nodded, letting them go.

“I’ll let my team drive you home. Here’s my contact information if you need any help.” Jason nodded, grabbing the card and going back into the car. To say it was a wild night was an understatement. He was eager to go back to bed and cuddle up with his husband but also looking forward to discovering where this rock really came from.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next week was very boring. No matter how hard Jason tried, he couldn’t figure out what the stone was made out of. His team poked and prodded it over and over, pouring acid on it to melt the material… none of it worked. He sat at his table at the end of the week, completely exhausted. He had stayed up every night trying to figure it out. His husband was getting very impatient with him, and so was the mayor. He felt the world watching him, waiting for his every move. It was absolutely exhausting.

He had decided not to fire Steve for now. He was the one that figured out how to extract a sample from the rock, and without that sample, they would all be lost right now. He seemed to be acting more and more peculiar throughout the week though. He was more quiet than usual, keeping to himself most of the time. He thought he was a little weird, but he was too focused on everything else to really pay attention to that.

That afternoon though, he was assigned to an essential task and was nowhere to be found. Jason was getting a little impatient, they were all working very hard, and it didn’t seem like Steve was caring at all. He showed up a few hours later, not even saying anything to any of his colleagues. “Steve? Steve, why are you so late for work? Are you okay?” He didn’t reply. He just stared blankly ahead.

“Hello? Can you hear me?” He waved his hand in front of him, and he turned to look at him, still blankly. “John? Can you come over here? I think there’s something wrong with Steve.” Jason called out. John, who was wearing his lab coat and currently putting a hammer to the part of the meteor, came over, pushing his goggles out as he stared at him.

“What’s wrong with him?” He asked, slightly concerned.

“I don’t know. It’s like he can’t even hear me properly.” Jason said. “And look how blank his expression is- that’s not normal.”

John moved around, staring at him. “Yeah this is really weird…” He said. Steve moved his gaze to follow John around, but didn’t say a word. After a few seconds, a low growl came out of him.

“What the hell was that?” Jason asked.

“I don’t know.” John replied. He reached out and slapped Steve square on the face. “HEY! ARE YOU OKAY?” Steve didn’t like that. He pounced on top of John, growling louder this time. He sunk his teeth deep into him, his flesh being pierced deep into his bone. John cried out. He grabbed Steve on his head, but he was too strong for him, he sunk his teeth more.

“What the fuck.” Jason said, and he ran immediately. He reached the door of the lab, and he slammed it shut, putting a nearby couch against the door. He stood there, completely awestruck. What the hell was going on?

He reached for his pocket, wanting to dial 911 right away. He then remembered that he was given the officer’s private number, and he called Sofia, his heart pounding rapidly. “Hello? Officer Sofia Ramirez at your service.” She replied after the phone rang a few times.

“Sofia. Hi. It’s Jason, the scientist from the meteor accident?” He said, his voice coming out rapidly.

“Yes. I remember you. Everything okay? You sound a little… scared.” She commented.

“I am. You’re not going to believe this.” He said, looking into the glass door to see what was going on. He could see neither gentlemen as he peered in.

“Ha. Trust me, as the top officer of Crescent Island, I’ve seen quite my share of events.”

“Well… remember how one of my scientists nicked his finger on the meteor because he wasn’t wearing proper gloves?”

“Yes, quite dumb of him.”

“Well, his name is Steve Blackwell. And… he’s been acting weird all week.”

“Weird how?” She asked, her tone becoming more urgent.

“He hasn’t been speaking to us at all, and today he came very late and… he couldn’t hear what I was saying to him at all. It’s like he’s gone deaf. And he had this blank expression on his face. Then, my colleague John Gibbons slapped him to get him to pay attention to us… and he just went crazy.”

“Crazy how? Also, you probably shouldn’t be slapping each other at work.”

“He bit him. He sunk his teeth deep into him and ripped a chunk of his meat out.”

“Excuse me?” She asked.

“I told you you’re not going to believe this. It’s like he’s a fucking zombie. Sorry officer, forgive my language.”

“I think your language is warranted in this situation. What’s going on now? Also, I’m sending my team right away. I’m currently on my bike myself.”

“I ran and pressed a chair against the door so neither of them could exit. I have no idea where they are now, though.”

“Are you 100% sure there are no other exits they can use from the room you were at?” She asked sternly.

“Fuck.” He replied, and the phone went dead.

Chapter 3

“The police are currently advising that everyone stays calm.” The reporter said, pressing her paper down on the counter. “Here is all the information we’ve been provided: the meteor that landed in the city last week was examined by scientists, one of whom by the name of Steve Blackwell. He was the first to be turned, into what we’re still not so certain. The chemical being produced by the meteor seems to convert a person’s brain into something different, something that is being taught that all humans are to be attacked. Police investigated the lab right away, but it was too late. Some of the scientists bitten had gotten out, looking for more humans to infect.” She shivered, visibly scared herself. “There is some good news though. It seems these creatures are unable to come out in daylight. The UV light produced by the sun burns their skin, making them unable to move any further. These creatures have been found to be deaf, and their eyesight is poor. They are stronger than normal humans, and caution must be taken if you think you’ve seen one. The mayor understands that some may be your loved ones, but there is currently no method discovered that can turn them back to normal. Please do not engage and call the police immediately. If you have been bitten, please be aware that the saliva in contact with your blood will make you start to convert instantly. Lock yourself in a room and do not exit. There is currently a lockdown in effect. No one should be leaving their home at any time, I am broadcasting from my home as well.” She paused. “Be calm. Be smart. It’ll all be over soon, I know of it.” The segment blacked out, moving to commercials.

Frank turned to look at his mother and sister, both of whom were staring at the screen, speechless themselves. How could this possibly be happening? It was like something out of a horror movie. Elizabeth moved to hug both of them, pushing them tight against her body as she breathed in and out. “You heard her. None of you are allowed to exit the house, do you hear me?”

Lucy Wulfsige nodded, and pretended that her mom was squeezing her so hard she was unable to breath. “Ugh… mom. Let me go.” She made choking sounds. Lucy was 19 years old, just entering college and now living on her own. She had been back to see them that weekend when everything came into fruition. She was an intelligent and kind girl who loved her family just as much as she loved dancing and swimming, which led her into an all encompassing career as an athlete. Though she was worried it wouldn’t work out for her, she’s been doing so well in her first few months of college that she wasn’t so worried. She was a caring older sister, constantly worried about her little brother and teased him all the time about him not having friends his own age. She felt that he had a very lonely life, but was constantly surprised by how happy he was all the time. He must’ve just been an introverted kid, whereas she constantly had to be with her friends at the beach to feel okay.

She wore a pair of black square glasses with thick frames, a tight white top that accentuated her breasts, and jean shorts with a brown leather belt. She had long blonde braided hair just like her mother, and a blush on her cheeks at all times just like her brother. Guys adored her everywhere she went, but she had never been interested in a boyfriend, she was too focused on her family and her career to care about stupid boys. Her brother and mother needed her, that was obvious.

“I’m not going to let you go until you promise me you won’t be going outside.” She scolded.

“Ngh. Okay, okay. But you should really be talking to Frank. He’s the one that goes outside all the time, he just wanders off for no reason and then doesn’t tell anyone about it.” She complained. She had always wondered where her little brother was going off to.

“Frank is a good boy that doesn’t do anything wrong.” She snugged him harder, pushing him directly into her chest. He groaned, really unable to breathe now.

“Yeah yeah.” Lucy rolled her eyes. “Whatever you say, mom. I’m sure he has a dark side, we just have to be the ones that figure it out.” She moved her arm out to tickle him, working on his armpits- which she knew was his weak spot. He laughed out loud, squirming against her over and over as Elizabeth still held him tight.

“Stop, stop!” He cried out. Lucy finally let him go, satisfied that she won this time like she always did. “Aren’t the both of you worried? There’s a zombie invasion that could be at our door at any time.”

“You heard what the mayor told everyone. She says it’s going to be okay, and I believe her.” Elizabeth retorted.

“I don’t.” Lucy said. “I think they’re just telling us this so we don’t freak out. The government has no idea what’s going on. And I hate it. I want to go back to school and see my friends.” She groaned.

“I wasn’t sure you had any friends.” Elizabeth teased.

“Mom!” Lucy whined. “Why are you so nice to Frank all the time and so mean to me?”

“Because he’s the nice one, Frank has never made fun of anyone.” She retorted. Frank stared at the two of them, not believing how they could be so normal about this situation.

He wouldn’t be able to just sit and do nothing. He had to try to help out the best he could. After they fell asleep, Frank put his hoodie on and grabbed a flashlight. He would have to explore the neighborhood, see what he can find out. He wasn’t the type to be able to sit at home and wait for someone to tell him everything was going to be okay. He was curious and needed to find out more. He wanted to be the one to tell his mom and sister that they could feel safe again.

He exited the door quietly, hoping the two of them wouldn’t be able to hear him try to leave the house. Elizabeth was normally very calm and collected, but when she was angry- that was a whole other story. He knew she wouldn’t be happy about him risking his life. He turned on his flashlight and walked by the fences of the houses around where they lived, trying to be as physically quiet as possible. He was doing well, he was only 11 afterall, and very short in comparison to his family. No one would notice him walk around in the dead of night in a quiet neighborhood, would they? He turned the corner, and immediately regretted his decision. He heard a low growling sound, something he knew was a sign of a creature being nearby.

He turned the other direction, walking as quickly as possible. The lady on the news had given no indication that the outbreak had gotten this bad. They lived a car ride away, and the government had given them all indication that this virus was being contained. How had it gotten to where they lived so quickly? He ran back to the direction of their house, trying to open the gate so he could enter and lock the creature out. Was there even a creature closeby or was the growling just his imagination playing tricks on him? He didn’t want to find out.

He felt the latch click open, and he breathed out a sigh of relief. He was home now, it was all going to be okay. It wasn’t. He felt an arm on his shoulder, and he looked back. What he saw was grotesque- a human that looked like he was starting to decompose, his flesh eaten decaying little by little. His flashlight shined on the creature's eyes, and it groaned loudly, instinctively covering his face. This was his chance. Frank started to run as fast as he could. It would be easy for him to go back home, but he didn’t want to bring something demonic like that into where his mother and sister were currently sleeping. He would rather die than see them hurt. The creature recovered quickly, and moved after him. He could hear it run after him, happy that it finally spotted someone to attack after so long. It was completely and utterly horrifying.

Frank finally felt like he was getting ahead when he stupidly fell onto the asphalt, his head face planted first into the ground. It was his next door neighbor Claire’s gardening hose, left out in the open from the day before. The zombie had caught up to him. He could hear the low growling sound behind him. He was glad that he didn’t recognize him, it would be so much harder this way. Frank braced for it, the impact of the bite against his skin. It came, he felt the coldness of the creature on top of his body and then the bite, the crunching sound as his teeth entered his skin. It dug deep into his shoulder and Frank cried out, the pain worse than anything else he’s ever felt in his life. It was over as quickly as it began, by the time he opened his eyes again, the creature was gone for its next hunt. Frank felt his shoulder and gasped at the stinging sensation. He felt the wetness of his blood against his fingers, and he felt the weight of what happened settle down on him.

This was it, he was going to be one of them now. He would be a brainless zombie, hunting for the next person he would be infecting until someone put an end to it and killed him. He felt unbelievably depressed. He wouldn’t even have the chance to say goodbye to the most important women in the world to him. They cared so much about him, and his stupidity and inquisitiveness lost him everything. He deserved this. He stood up, shaking the thoughts from his head. He would have to go somewhere and end it for himself before the virus fully took over his bloodstream. He walked towards the one place only he ever went to- the treehouse his father had built for him so many years ago.

It was a short walk away, and he climbed the ladder to the top, wincing every time he placed weight on the shoulder that was injured. He locked the latch hard, though was worried that if he turned before he was able to end himself, he would have the strength to open the latch even as a mindless zombie. The news reporter did say they were stronger after they turned. He looked for the knife he had on hand, something he never used quite often but placed in the treehouse as a little kid to ‘fight off intruders’. He searched and searched, his heart pounding as he feared that the virus in his body would be taking over any time. Finally, he found the small dagger underneath a pile of painting supplies. He took it out and placed it next to his neck.

He closed his eyes. He would have to do this no matter how scared he was. His hand shook furiously, and he bit his lip so hard it started to bleed. He leaned in closer and closer, the blade now against his neck, piercing slightly into it. He breathed in and---

Stopped. He couldn’t do it. He loved his life, and he loved all the people surrounding him. He was too much of a coward to end it for himself just like that. He was only an eleven year old boy, for goodness sake. He had so many years ahead of him, and he couldn’t help but think in the back of his mind there must be some sort of solution to this. Maybe he would be an exception and not turn mindless. Maybe he could help them find a cure somehow.

He fell asleep with these thoughts racing through his head, his body collapsing from the loss of blood and exhaustion. His fight-or-flight response finally settled, and peace finally took over.

Chapter 4

He woke up the next morning very confused. Wouldn’t the virus have settled in by now? He felt completely normal. Actually, he felt better than normal. He felt for the wound on his shoulder and gasped out loud. He sat up and pulled his shirt away, looking down. The wound was completely gone. What the hell happened? It was like nothing even bit him. He pressed his hand against the smooth skin, it was completely healed. Did yesterday even happen, or was everything just a weird dream that manifested in his head?

He shook his head, it couldn’t be. His shirt was still covered in his old blood, which was now completely dried and oxidized. What was wrong with him? Why didn’t he turn into a zombie like everyone else? His mind then went a different direction- his mom would be scared out of her mind looking for him. He was clearly not feeling the need to hunt her or hurt her, so it should be fine for him to be around her. He walked to the latch and pulled on it, he barely had to use any force for it to slam open, hitting the treehouse hard and shaking it. He gasped. What happened? He didn’t remember the latch being so weak before.

Before he went down, he found some gym clothes he had left in the treehouse a while back, and changed it with his blood soaked clothes. He figured that would make his mom extremely suspicious of him. He walked down the stairs, which creaked loudly at the impact like he was putting any force into it. Why was everything he was touching acting so weird? Like he had more force than an olympic weightlifter… even though nothing had changed.

He slammed open the door and cringed at how loud he was. He would have to be more aware of his strength. He wouldn’t want to destroy the house by accident. “Mom?” He called out.

He heard the worry in her voice when she replied with his name, and saw her enter the kitchen, her eyes wide. “Oh my god Frank!? Where have you been? I woke up this morning and you weren’t in bed. I thought the creatures got you in the middle of the night!”

Lucy stood at the entrance, leaning against the door while rolling her eyes. “Mom. I told you he was just sleeping in his treehouse like always, why would the zombies just get him and not look for beautiful women like us?”

Elizabeth glared at her. “First of all, I checked the latch of the treehouse. It was locked like nobody was there last night. Second of all, the zombies aren’t particularly interested in beautiful women, they just want to infect as many people as possible.”

Lucy groaned. “Okay, okay. I’m going to the pool now. Bye!” She had a towel wrapped around her, and she dropped it on the kitchen counter. She was wearing a one-piece blue suit, one that she had to wear at school with the rest of the students. It hugged her body tight, accentuating every curve while tightening at her breasts, showing off her usually hidden cleavage. Frank had never noticed how they bounced as she walked, but he stared at her, not able to stop. He felt his penis twitch, a sensation he’s never felt before. What was this? He felt a weird feeling in his body, a heat creep from his penis and spread throughout. It was like something was trying to take over his body, a primal animal creature that told him the only way he could feel better was to touch her, to ravish her and make her squirm beneath him. He couldn’t shake this feeling out of his head, and the more he stared at her as she swayed, exiting onto the pool in the back, the more he felt a tightening in his pants. It was like an alien creature was growing inside of it, threatening to come out at any second.

He gasped, and shifted against it. It felt so hard, and even the sensation of his boxer briefs against it made him want to do more. What was going on?

Elizabeth hadn’t noticed the change in his composure. She put her arms around him again like she always did, her chest digging into his face as she moved against him. His entire field of focus changed towards her. He wanted now to ravish her, instead. To push her onto the ground and make his penis feel better than before. What were these thoughts going through his head? It was like he was possessed.

She gasped slightly, she felt the sensation of warmth all over her body, a sort of blissful pleasure that made her want to touch him more. She felt her anxiety of him gone for the night fade away, and she felt like she was floating on a cloud. She never wanted to come back down.

“Mom? Are you okay?” He noticed she wasn’t letting go of him, and was feeling hard to breath with her giant breasts against his face.

“Yes.” She said breathlessly, though didn’t let go. She stroked his arm, touching all the parts of his skin that was exposed to her. She couldn’t think clearly, and wanted to touch him more. All over. It felt too good to stop.

“Mom?” He pushed her slightly back, though his strength was overwhelming again. She fell onto the floor, bouncing slightly as she winced.

She immediately went back to normal. She smiled at him. “Oh I’m sorry Frank. I’m sure you want to go and shower after a night at the treehouse. Go on, then.” He stared at her, confused, and then nodded, walking up the stairs to his bedroom.

She stood in the kitchen, wanting to feel more of him. Why did that feel so good? And why was she so desperate for more? She would have to get herself together, this was her son she was pining over for goodness sake.

Frank entered his bedroom, still very confused about what had happened to him. He should’ve turned by now. He should’ve been trying to attack his family, not knowing what they meant to him anymore. Why wasn’t the disease affecting him like everyone else? He sat in the corner of his bed, thinking.

What was different about him since he got bitten? First, he healed extremely quickly. A huge scar that tore his shoulder apart the day before was completely gone- could this be an effect from his own blood? Would it work on himself or affect other people as well? Could he somehow cure diseases? Second, he had to consider his strength. It was definitely far beyond how he was before. He didn’t have any muscles! He still didn’t have any, and yet he was able to slam and hit things with barely any effort. It didn’t make any sense. Third, he was feeling this… desire he couldn’t explain. This heat in his body from seeing his sister like that. Her ass swaying from side to side, her tits bouncing against her swimming suit. Just thinking about it now made him want to do something to her. It was so completely out of the blue. He’s never had these feelings before. Of course, he was always slightly into women, appreciating their body and the curves that he would never have himself. But this was far more advanced than how it was before. He hadn’t gone through puberty, and his penis shouldn’t be behaving like not. At least, not for a couple of years. He didn’t even have any hair down there yet!

Also, why was his mom behaving in that fashion? All she did was touch him like she always did, and suddenly she couldn’t stop. None of it made any sense. He wanted to get to the bottom of it, but what could he possibly do? He would have to talk to one of the scientists studying the infection and see what they can discover from what happened to him. The problem was, with how worried people were recently, would they believe an 11 year old boy was bitten and cured? Or will they be so scared they’ll immediately lock him up, or worse, kill him.

Frank didn’t want to think about this anymore. He decided to spend some time with his sister. He hasn’t seen her in a very long time, and he had to admit he missed her very much, despite all the teasing. He would talk to the scientists as soon as he could, but for now, he would join her in the pool. He took off his top and changed his shorts to his swimming trunks, a boring pair of blue ones his mom had gotten for him last year. It was the only pair he had. He picked up his towel from the floor and headed downstairs. His mom was nowhere to be found, which he was kind of thankful for. He didn’t want her to freak out on him again.

His sister was sitting by the pool, splashing her feet at the water while staring out at it. She turned to face him, and he blushed at seeing her cleavage again. Was it always this large? Even if it was, she never affected him like this before. He would have to get these thoughts out of his mind if he wanted to swim properly. “Coming to join me, little brother?” She giggled. “Don’t think you can ever outmatch me with swimming, even after you go through puberty.”

“I wouldn’t want to try.” He replied.

“Good.” She stood up. “I’m done swimming anyways, it’s time for my tanning now.” The water dripped down from her body as she swayed side by side, walking to one of the deck chairs they owned. He ignored her, and walked to the shallow edge of the pool to enter. “Excuse me, did you forget what I always ask you to do for me?” She winked at him.

He gulped. He hadn’t forgotten, but he had hoped that she would forget since it’s been so long. She did not. He sighed and walked over to her and she laid back on the chair on her stomach, turning to look at him. He grabbed the sunscreen from the table next to her, groaning internally. Did he really want to do this? Maybe he could just say no… but he had a feeling she could be extremely suspicious and also want to kill him at the same time. The only person Lucy let disagree with her was their mother, just because of how horrifying she was when she was really angry. He opened the bottle and squeezed the lotion onto his hand, rubbing it together before putting his hands on her back.

It was good she was wearing a one-piece, because a bikini would be way too much skin exposed for him to handle. He started from up top- her neck and then her shoulders. He rubbed her skin softly, trying not to be weird by adding too much pressure anywhere. This wasn’t a massage after all. She laid there enjoying it, not saying a word. He moved down to her shoulders, and then down her arms. By the time he reached her wrists, the lotion was getting minimal, and he accidentally gave her skin to skin contact. Her reaction was immediately the same as Elizabeth’s. It caused her to feel a small amount of blissful pleasure, a sense of calm through her whole body. The anxiety and depression she felt for being apart from her friends vanished. Her fear of them being attacked disappeared as well. She felt peaceful for the first time in a very long time, the need to be aggressive and strong to the people around her faded away. All she could think about was how much she wanted him to touch her more. To explore more of her body. To Frank, nothing had changed. She remained lying there, waiting for his next move.

He squirted more of the lotion on his hands, and moved to her legs. The feeling of bliss left her slightly, but she still felt tingly and still wanted him to touch her more. He started with her feet and then worked his way up her legs, moving closer and closer to her erogenous zone. She shifted slightly, but didn’t say a word. Was he moving too close for her comfort? She usually wanted her whole body covered though. He was now studying her body closely, staring at the one piece riding up her ass, accentuating how it looked without displaying it in front of him. He could practically see exactly how it looked like if she were naked. Uh-oh. The thought made him feel something inside again. The heat came back. The dirty thoughts took over his mind like an animal engulfing his personality. He was no longer an innocent little kid, but one that wanted to get his way and destroy the woman in front of him.

He moved his hands up- higher and higher. He was bolder now, and he wanted to see how she would react. The lotion was gone again, and his fingers directly placed on her thighs made her start to feel bliss again. The more he touched her, the more she needed it and lost her train of thought. All the bad parts of life- her father’s death, her mother’s loneliness, his brother’s isolation from society, it all went away. Her only thoughts were his fingers on hers, and why the hell he wasn’t moving higher up.

He did as she needed. He explored the edge of her swimming suit, which was plastered against her labia. His fingers only needed to slip under to feel her down there, but he was still conscious of what he was doing, and he would never actually do that. He stroked his index finger across and over it multiple times, exploring her soft skin, which was even softer with the lotion on her. He could feel her getting warmer and warmer down there, and he desperately wanted to slip his fingers inside and feel how she felt in her depths. This was getting very frustrating. To Frank’s surprise, he felt her move underneath him, she was grinding against his finger now, eager to feel any sense of touch against her needy parts. She moved back and forth like she didn’t even know she was doing it, her body taking over her thoughts completely. He complied and placed his fingers against her swimming suit firmly. He could practically feel her bulging clit, which was begging to be touched. She was so wet down there. He couldn’t tell if it was from the swimming or not, but the heat gave an indication it was something more than that. Her clit rubbed against the tips of his fingers through the swimming suit, and she was getting more and more frustrated. This wouldn’t be enough for her.

He finally came to his senses and let go. He released his fingers from her, sniffing it as he closed the bottle. It smelt like something unfamiliar to him, but very musky and sweet. He wanted to taste more of it. The smell itself made him even harder, and his dick pressed against his own swimming suit, threatening to come out at any second. This was his second time experiencing something like that ever, and both were on the same day. Something so… filthy. Did all men feel like an animalistic mind was taking over them when they felt these emotions?

Lucy looked up at him, the expression on her face looked hurt. How could he do this to her? Make her feel so good and then stop? She would have to take her revenge somehow. She got up from the chair like nothing happened, turning on her front for him. He continued, starting with her neck and shoulders again and then down her front. This time, he couldn’t stop staring at her tits. They were screaming out at him, calling him to touch them. He wondered how soft they were- they look like melons, or pillows he could sleep on and never get up. He put his hand over them, rubbing the cream on her breasts in circular motions. She moved with him, enjoying the sensation. He moved to work on her arms and accidentally grazed against one of her nipples, which were both hard and begging for attention. She moaned slightly, appreciating the accidental attention from him. He blushed, and ignored the sounds coming out of her mouth.

He rushed her legs now, not wanting to spur her on further. The more she was into it the more he was as well, and his dick felt like it was going to explode out of his pants. When he finally finished, she glared up at him.

It was time for her to get her revenge. She stood up immediately, and he moved back, staring at the woman in front of him. “Wait, Lucy. I thought you were going to tan.”

She glared at him. “I changed my mind.” It looked like there were flames coming up from the top of her head. She sauntered over seductively to the jacuzzi, her hips swaying side by side. He watched her the whole time, gulping when she finally reached it. She walked into it slowly, stepping on the stairs one at a time. When she finally entered, she looked at him, eyes narrowing. “Are you going to join me or not?”

“Whaa---” He asked, eyes widening. “No, no. I have to go swim first.” He tried to make any excuse possible.

“No. You’re joining me, now. You wouldn’t want your big sister to be lonely, would you?” She scolded. He knew she was up to something, but there was nothing he could do other than just listen to her. He sighed and walked over, getting into the jacuzzi himself. He sat as far away from her as possible, and she watched his every move like a cat out for her hunt.

They didn’t say a word to each other, and suddenly Lucy moved one of her straps down the side of her arm. He stared. “What are you doing?!”

“It’s hot in here. I need to take this off.” She explained like it was the most normal thing in the world.

“What? Why don’t you just get out of the jacuzzi then!” He cried out.

She shook her head. “Don’t feel like it.” She pulled the other strap off, and then pulled her top down, revealing her beautiful breasts. He couldn’t stop staring at it. They were wonderful, and before today, he had no idea what wonderful breasts even looked like. Her areolas were huge and surrounded very hard nipples despite being in such a hot environment. It jiggled every time she moved, like it wanted to bounce off her body at any second. He gulped again. All he could think about was how bad he wanted to lick it and how bad he wanted to shove his face in between them. She could see him staring, and moved to take off the rest of the suit, pulling it down her stomach and then revealing her crotch and ass, though they were mostly hidden under the bubbles of the jacuzzi.

“Why are you staring, Frank? Don’t you think it’s inappropriate to stare at your own sister like that?”

He couldn’t believe it. She was doing this to him on purpose. What a bad girl! He felt a drive inside him that he couldn’t control, and he pounced at her, his hands reaching for her tits immediately. He grabbed them and felt how soft they were, even more than he imagined in his mind. He played with them, swirling them around his finger and then grazed his thumbs against her nipples. He then pinched them between his index and thumb, playing with them- harder than he should. She groaned and moaned under him, shocked that he had lost control like that. His fingers on her gave her an even more dramatic feeling than before, she felt a sense of peace, like nothing in the world could go wrong for her if he just kept touching her. It made her okay with whatever he was doing, and she moved against him, wanting to feel more of it.

He took this as a sign to continue, and he nuzzled his face into her breasts to feel more of it. “Sis- your breasts are so soft and delicious.” He said. She ignored him, but let him continue. She was blushing heavily from the heat of the jacuzzi and the attention she was getting. This was getting a bit too much for her. He moved down and placed his lips on hers and she reciprocated right away, feeling for his as well. It was his first kiss ever, but he seemed to know what he was doing. All he wanted was to feel and taste more of her, and he did, opening and closing on her while slipping his tongue inside.

Little did they know, the soaking of his saliva into her own system would be her kryptonite. The toxins that were created from the fluids now soaking his body were taken in by her cells in her brain, telling her that sensations in her body would be much more sensitive than before. It was a way for the virus to seduce the women he was meant to breed, though he didn’t know it. Every touch he provided her was more now. More sensitive, more pleasurable, more intense. She wouldn’t be able to stop it even if she tried. It felt like her skin was on fire. Was this what it was supposed to feel like? As a virgin, she had no idea. But it was far better than anything she had imagined in her own mind.

They continued kissing, and he moved down to feel for her nipples again, squeezing and playing with them as she moaned in his mouth. He needed more- how could he possibly feel more? It was like his dick was now the brain commanding him, leading him on despite how wrong this was. He flipped her over with his superhuman strength, putting her on her stomach leaning over the tub. He could now fully see her ass, and it made him shiver. He was wrong, the swimming suit was hiding how truly delicious it was.

And her mound- the swollen, pulsing mound that was slick with a fluid he’s never seen before. He needed to touch it. He pressed his finger against it, feeling how soft she was. She moaned, she was desperate now. He slipped one of his small fingers in, reaching halfway through her vagina. It wasn’t enough for her, she ground against his finger, asking for more. He would have to do better than that. He did. He took off his pants, revealing his dick for the first time. She couldn’t see it in the position she was in, but he stared at it. It was definitely not like this the day before. It was rock hard, like a spring loaded. It was around 7inches, which was far bigger than his normal 4 inch 11-year-old penis. It was weird though, he had no hair growth and no veins on it, like it still belonged to a young boy. A young boy’s penis wouldn’t be this large though, or even be capable of getting erect! It also had precum at the tip, a demonstration of how horny her really was. He couldn’t think much about this for now. He put his hands on her ass and positioned himself.

She was so swollen now it was obvious where he was supposed to slide in. And so he did, slipping into her fully in one stroke. She cried out, she didn’t see it coming at all. She ground back against him immediately, her soft ass hitting his abdomen as she did. He grabbed it as he pounded her again. And then again. She moved against him at the exact same pace, letting her body tell her exactly what to do to get the most pleasure. The precum he had created soaked into her system, making her even more sensitive than before. It was getting too much for her. She felt like every part of her body was on fire, and the only way it could be soothed was feeling more of him inside her. She couldn’t think clearly anymore, there was no point. The only thing she could think of was how she could possibly get more dick. More. And more.

How could sex possibly feel this good? No wonder people couldn’t get enough of it. It was his first time reaching orgasm, and he couldn’t stop himself when he did. He slammed into her, his dick now harder than ever. He felt like he was reaching the end of her vagina, touching her cervix as he hit against it. She ground back against him and cried out. She was screaming at this point, and she didn’t bother to stop herself from doing so. Who cares who saw them? He finally came, shooting spurts and spurts of cum inside of her. It was his first time ever cumming, and it wouldn't stop, it felt like a non stop jet that exploded out, a never ending stream. It pushed him out of her, and he saw all the goo he created drip down her body, down her sides and into the jacuzzi. She laid there completely and utterly destroyed, her body resting against the surface of the jacuzzi as she breathed in and out deeply.

He remembered hearing that guys felt exhausted after they had sex, but he didn’t feel anything sense of tiredness himself. He felt normal, though a bit more relieved than before. He wasn’t consumed with thoughts of fucking ever woman he came across anymore- thank god. He pat her gently on the back, soothing her. She was feeling completely out of control. The cum was now soaking into her body in combination with the saliva, making her even hornier than normal. She needed him again, and again. Desperately. Every touch he made on her skin made her want to explode. She turned over, exposing her breasts. He studied it and put his mouth around it, sucking it a few times. This was too much for her with her heightened sensitivity. She came, screaming out loud and pulsing around his body like she was having a seizure. She fell down again, calming down. “Ahh… Frank.” Was all she could say.

He calmed her down more, petting her and letting her back into the jacuzzi. She didn’t say a word to him, but leaned her head on his shoulder, letting him take care of her. When she was finally okay again, she walked out of the tub, her ass swaying from side to side again. She wasn’t as graceful as before, and as she slightly limped she stared back at him, “Ah… I’m a little sore.” She commented. It was her first time, afterall. And she wasn’t expecting something like that. He was so forceful, so strong. When did her little brother get this powerful? It was like it happened over night.

“I’m sorry Lucy, I lost control. I don’t know what happened.” He tried to explain.

She shook her head. “I wanted it, too. That was obvious.” She thought for a few seconds. “Don’t tell mama, okay?” He nodded, he wasn’t planning on it.

She was finally able to tan properly now, and she fell asleep at the chair while he swam a few laps, trying to get all the racing thoughts out of his mind.

Chapter 5

When he was done with swimming, he walked quietly to the shower, getting all the chlorine out of his body. He decided in the shower he would have to talk to someone, and soon. What was happening to him wasn’t normal, and if there was a way for him to save the people who were not infected, he would want to help as much as possible. He put on his maroon hoodie again and walked out the door, hoping no one would see him. It was daylight still, meaning the zombies wouldn’t be out- but it still wasn’t safe if he were to enter any buildings with them around. And no one had a clue where they went when it was still light out.

He wasn’t able to drive yet, and none of the buses were currently working. It would take him more than an hour, but he would go with his bike. He had a lot of energy now thanks to what happened to him, so he doubted this would take a lot of effort.

And so he went, he cycled hard and tried to avoid any dark places. The city was very different to what he saw a few days ago. There was no one around, it was completely barren, the humans who lived there had either run away or were hiding in their houses, too afraid to go outside. It was like an apocalypse had happened within a week. He was too scared to imagine what would happen if this continued.

When he finally reached the science facility, a tall 5 floor building on the remote parts of town, he realized his mistake. It was covered in caution tapes, warning people of the outbreak and telling them to go home immediately. It seemed a lot of people had gone to the lab on the first few days, curious as to what they would find. Idiots.

He dropped his bike on the side of the street and went under the caution tape, looking around to see if he could spot any creatures. There was no one there. He walked slowly and entered the front door, which was completely unlocked. The lab was a mess. Equipment was thrown around, glass was shattered on the floor. It looked like a large battle had taken place there, and he wondered if any scientists even got out. It was a shame that the cleverest minds in Crescent city were the first to get attacked.

“Hello?” He called out. No one responded. Could he be dumb enough to be entering the location that the zombies were first created with no weapon in hand? He shook his head, they were violent, but none of them had killed anyone yet. He would be able to heal quickly, and he was clearly unable to turn into one of them. “Hello?” He said louder now, feeling a little braver.

“Put your hands up!” A voice screamed, staring at him. He turned around to see Sofia, the main officer of Crescent city. He recognized her from the news, something he watched very often. He listened to her, putting his hands up in defense.

“Okay, okay!” He yelled. “I come in peace.”

Sofia stared at him, narrowing her eyes. “What are you doing here, kid?”

He gulped. This was more than he bargained for. “I’m here to talk to a scientist. I believe i have a way to cure the disease that’s spreading.”

“How would a kid like you know anything?” She demanded.

“Calm down, Sofia.” Another voice said. Jason appeared from behind her, smiling at Frank in a friendly fashion. “I’d say I was pretty smart when I was his age. Maybe he knows something.”

Frank nodded. “I think so.”

Sofia was still doubtful. “Were you bitten by one of them?”

Frank nodded. “Yes, I was.”

She raised her gun up again. “JASON! RUN! I’LL GET HIM.”

“Sofia! I said calm down!” He cried out in return. She looked at him, and then at Frank, who had his hands in his pocket, staring at her with the most innocent gaze possible. She nodded, and put her gun away. “Look. I wouldn’t be able to trust anyone either right now. Let’s put him in another room and study his behaviour. He would be turning any second now anyways, it works pretty fast.”

She nodded. “Okay.”

Frank tilted his head. “I know you won’t believe a kid like me but… I was bitten yesterday. And I’m fine.” He pulled on his hoodie, showing them his shoulder. “Look, it’s all healed.” Sofia and Jason were still a little worried, and put him in one of the labs to study him for a few hours while they chatted.

Jason pulled out his voice recording device, setting it on the table so he could question Frank and write down all the facts later. “Well, start explaining.” He muttered.

“Well… I went out at night last night alone.” He started.

Sofia glanced at Jason. “Are you sure we can trust a kid that would do something this stupd?”

Jason glared at her. “Let him talk!”

Frank continued. “One of them bit me on the shoulder, and I locked myself in the treehouse so I wouldn’t turn and hurt my family.” They nodded. “I woke up with it completely healed, my shirt was drenched in blood so I definitely didn’t imagine it happening. And when I tried to open the latch… I, um…” He paused.

Jason stared at him. “We’re in the middle of a zombie attack right now. I’ll believe almost anything right now. Continue.”

“Okay.” Frank replied. “I had superhuman strength? I was able to lift a metal and wooden latch with just the tip of my finger.”

“Show us.” Jason said. Frank nodded, and he moved down from the patient bed he was sitting on. He put a finger at the bottom of the bed and lifted it, the metal moaned and lifted up, and he threw it against the wall with all his strength. It hit the wall, hard, and made a large dent in it.

“Holy shit.” Sofia said. “He’s telling the truth.” Jason didn’t say anything, but started to write in his notebook.

Frank took it as a sign he should explain more. “Also… people react weirdly when I touch them. It’s like they want me to continue touching them. It doesn’t make any sense.”

“Weirdly how?” Jason asked.

“I can’t really explain it.” Frank replied.

“And I’ve been getting…” He gulped. “Erections. Even though I haven’t gone through puberty yet.”

Sofia blushed. She wondered if she should be listening to all this, though she should stay in order to gather all the information possible.

“That is really strange.” Jason said.

“I think my blood has some kind of healing property, maybe in a sense where I can somehow convert people back to normal? If I can heal myself, why wouldn’t I be able to heal other people?” He explained.

“That’s definitely something we can explore.” Jason commented. “Is there anything else?”

“It’s only been a few hours since I’ve noticed all this… so I’m not really sure if there’s more to discover.” Frank said.

Jason nodded. He buried his head in his notebook, scribbling paragraph after paragraph. When Sofia finally cleared her throat from being impatient, he finally looked back up at the both of them, his expression now very serious.

“I brought Sofia here so we can find the meteor again to study more from it, but I can’t seem to find it anywhere. The rock in the forest has vanished as well.” He started to explain. “My theory so far is…” He scratched his head. “Okay, this is going to sound a little far fetched.” Sofia nodded for him to continue. “I think the disease was somehow planted here by another alien race that’s trying to get rid of us. They weren’t capable of killing us because of how advanced we are right now, and so… they’re trying to get us to get rid of each other. It’s the perfect strategy, really. Biological warfare, to be precise. The disease they created infects the brain, gets rid of all memories so people will infect their loved ones, and makes them want to infect more people- it’s their only purpose now. There seems to be a few side effects though- it messes with their hearing, making them completely deaf. I’m sure you both also know by now that their skin is now very sensitive to UV light, which is something to do with melanin production completely ceasing.” He lost Sofia there, but she pretended she still understood.

“So you’re saying some kind of alien race is trying to get rid of all of us?”

He nodded. “Told you it was crazy.”

“Honestly, it seems like the only logical explanation. The meteor was the one that caused all this to happen in the first place” She said.

“And now that it’s done it’s job, it’s gone. Poof. Just like that.”

“So how would you explain the kid?” She tilted her head towards Frank, who was now sitting there listening intently as well.

“He’s somehow… part of their plan. I think he has some genetics they’re interested in, which may be why they’re even after our planet in the first place. The effect he creates on women makes them open themselves to him, letting him impregnate them. The strength makes him unable to be stopped… and the erection- I think that’s self explanatory. Why else would a disease somehow make a little boy now have full-on erections before puberty?”

Sofia thought for a second. “Wait but why would he be able to cure diseases?”

“I don’t think they thought that far. The disease works differently on people with certain genes, making them be tougher than normal and be able to heal quicker than normal… I don’t think they thought about the effect that he would have on other people by sharing his blood with them. We haven’t even tested the theory out, anyways. But if the kid’s right, it would be exploiting a major loophole this other race didn't think of when they created the virus.”

Sofia nodded. “That’s genius! We should try it out immediately.”

Jason agreed with her, suggesting that he cut his skin a little and exchange blood with Frank to see the results. Sofia shook his head. “No. I’m the cop here, my job is to protect civilians. I’ll do it.”

She unlocked the lab, now trusting Frank fully. She approached him with assertiveness and brought a small knife out, slicing her finger across. She held Frank’s hand and did the same to him. She tried to do it quickly so she wouldn’t touch him for long, she didn’t want his skin’s effects to affect her too much. He hissed a little at the pain, and she apologized. She then pressed her finger against his, watching for his reaction. He studied their fingers against each other and waited for the blood exchange to be enough. When it was, he let go and wiped his finger with the blanket on the patient bed. They waited, both staring down at their own fingers. His was already starting to heal, and with a blink of his eyes, he saw that his wound was completely sealed.

He looked up at her, curious. “How is yours doing?”

She gasped, and showed him. The wound was completely gone as well. “Oh my god, you were right.”

Jason whopped from outside the room, and entered himself. “This is absolutely amazing.” He said. “Frank, I hope you’ll find it okay if I withdraw some of your blood. Of course, it wouldn’t be enough to kill you, but may make you slightly dizzy. I’ll need to do as many tests as possible to get this right.”

Frank nodded. He wanted to do anything he could to help. He sat at the bed while Jason tied a tight band around him, letting his veins appear against his skin. He grabbed a needle and alcohol from the cupboard, winking at him as he told him how lucky they were that the biological part of the lab was still pretty intact. He pierced his skin, though it barely felt like a mosquito bite. Frank sat there in silence while Jason withdrew more and more of his blood, taking as much as he possibly could. When he was done, he grinned proudly. “Hadn’t had to do that for a really long time, glad I still remembered.” He lifted the blood and stared back at the both of them. “Sofia, I’m going to go run some tests. I promise I’ll be safe. Do you think you can watch Frank and take care of him while I go? I may need him to stay here for a few more hours for further testing. Frank, is that okay with you?”

He nodded. He had nowhere else to go, though he was concerned his mom would be worried about him. Sofia nodded as well, she wanted to protect the kid as much as possible. He could be the key to saving the rest of them.
